Exterior & façade painting

A façade
that stands out.

It's the first thing people see of your home. We protect it from the weather and bring back all its shine — for years.

Exterior & façade painting — Revono
Our method

How we work.

  1. 01 Survey & quote We assess the surface, the moisture and the right treatment, then give a clear price.
  2. 02 Scaffolding & protection Safe access; surroundings, joinery and plants protected before we start.
  3. 03 Cleaning & moss removal Low/high-pressure wash, anti-moss treatment and rinsing of the surface.
  4. 04 Repair & primer Cracks and renders made good, then a fixative on porous surfaces.
  5. 05 Painting & check Suitable façade paint in two coats, finish checked, site cleared cleanly.
Pro tips

The details that make it.

Craftsmanship is mostly the details you don't see. Here are a few principles we apply on every job.

  1. 01 We wait for the right weather window No rain 24 to 48 h before or after, no frost, no full sun on the wall, and between 8 and 25 °C. Painting a façade too early or too hot makes it blister.
  2. 02 Moss removal first Algae and moss are treated and rinsed off first. Painting over them traps the problem: it comes back within months.
  3. 03 Survey the surface before choosing the product Brick, render, concrete, old plaster: each needs different preparation and paint. We test adhesion and moisture level.
  4. 04 Treat cracks at depth We open them up, fill with a flexible filler and reinforce if needed. A simple lick of paint over a crack never holds.
  5. 05 A breathable paint on old walls We favour a microporous paint (siloxane, mineral): it lets moisture escape instead of trapping it under a sealed film.
  6. 06 A fixative on chalking surfaces On a porous or 'chalking' surface, the fixative binds the dust and evens out absorption — otherwise the paint soaks in unevenly.
Which type of paint?

Breathable or film-forming?

Depending on the age and state of the wall, we don't use the same family of paint. We choose after surveying the surface.

Mineral Siloxane · breathable

For old walls that need to breathe.

  • Lets moisture escape, doesn't blister
  • A very natural, mineral matte look
  • Ideal on lime, stone and old renders
Ideal for
  • Old walls
  • Lime renders
  • Stone
Acrylic Film-forming · high coverage

To cover and protect sound surfaces.

  • A film resistant to rain, frost and sun
  • Wide choice of shades, strong coverage
  • Ideal on modern renders and concrete
Ideal for
  • Modern render
  • Concrete
  • Sound façades

Our advice On an old façade, we favour a paint that breathes: trapping moisture is a guarantee of blisters. On a sound, modern surface, acrylic offers durability and colour.

Good to know

What to know up front.

The practical points that make the job simpler — and the result better. Another question? Just ask, we always answer.

How long does a façade job take?

Depending on the area and the weather, from a few days to two weeks. We give you a schedule in the quote and stick to it — barring a weather setback, which is always for quality.

Is a permit needed?

Sometimes, depending on the municipality and if the colour changes (or in a protected area). We warn you in advance and can help with the formalities.

What if my façade is damp or already blistering?

We look for the cause first. Repainting over a damp wall solves nothing: we treat the problem first, otherwise it returns within months.

How does access and the surroundings work?

We organise the scaffolding and protect the surroundings (ground, plants, windows). If access reaches the pavement or a neighbour's, we plan it with you.

Can we do the shutters and cornices at the same time?

It's the right moment: we're already on the scaffolding. Doing shutters, cornices and downpipes at once avoids paying for access again later.
