How we work.

  3. 03 Preparation Filling, sanding, undercoat. This is where a perfect finish is decided.
  4. 04 Application At least two coats, in the chosen finish, with a steady, even hand.
  5. 05 Clean handover We clean, tidy up and check with you. A room ready to live in.
Pro tips

The details that make it.

Craftsmanship is mostly the details you don't see. Here are a few principles we apply on every job.

  1. 01 Raking light never lies Before painting, we light the wall from the side: it's the only way to spot dips and bumps invisible head-on. We fix them before the colour, never after.
  2. 02 Test the colour on the wall, not on a swatch A shade shifts with the light and the orientation. North-facing, cold light: we warm the shade up. We put up large samples, looked at morning and evening.
  3. 03 An undercoat on tricky surfaces New plaster, water or nicotine stains, a dark colour to cover: the right primer (sometimes a stain-blocking one) stops bleed-through and helps the paint grip.
  4. 04 Two coats, crossed and even A single coat never covers evenly. We apply two — three on strong shades — crossed, for a uniform colour with no build-up.
  5. 05 The order: ceiling, then walls, then woodwork We paint top to bottom and keep the woodwork for last. The result: fewer touch-ups and no splashes on finished work.
  6. 06 Drying is part of the job We respect recoat times and paint between 12 and 25 °C in a ventilated room. Rushing risks blisters, marks and peeling.
The finishes

The right finish for every room.

We don't use the same paint in a living room and a bathroom. We point you to what lasts and stays beautiful.

  • 2% sheen
Deep matte Elegant, hides small flaws. Ideal for living rooms and bedrooms.
  • 10% sheen
Washable velvet Soft and wipeable with a sponge. Perfect for hallways, kitchens, children's rooms.
  • 30% sheen
Satin Resistant to moisture and rubbing. For bathrooms, skirting boards and woodwork.
Water or oil?

Which paint, for what?

The right choice depends on the room and the surface. We explain it simply — and above all, we choose it with you, no jargon.

Water-based Acrylic · water phase

The default choice in the vast majority of cases.

  • Dries fast and barely smells — the room is usable again quickly
  • Doesn't yellow: the shade stays true over time
  • Breathable, more eco-friendly, easy to maintain
Ideal for
  • Walls
  • Ceilings
  • Living spaces
  • Bedrooms
Oil-based Alkyd · solvent-based

When you need toughness and an ultra-smooth finish.

  • Very smooth, hard, self-levelling finish, no brush marks
  • Highly resistant to moisture, knocks and scrubbing
  • Ideal where it rubs and where water is present
Ideal for
  • Woodwork
  • Doors & frames
  • Kitchens
  • Bathrooms
  • Radiators

Our advice In 9 cases out of 10, water-based is plenty for your walls and ceilings. We keep oil-based for woodwork and damp rooms — and we tell you straight, without selling you what you don't need.

Good to know

What to know up front.

The practical points that make the job simpler — and the result better. Another question? Just ask, we always answer.

Do I need to empty the room?

No, you don't have to do anything: we move and protect whatever's needed. But a cleared room — or furniture grouped in the middle — speeds up the job and gives an even cleaner result in the corners.

Can we keep living there during the work?

Yes. We work room by room, keeping the home usable, and our water-based paints barely smell: you can often use the room again the same evening.

Do you fill old holes?

Yes: frame holes, plugs, cracks — we fill and sand before painting. If you're planning new rails or light fittings, tell us in advance and we'll allow for it.

Should the ceiling be redone too?

We often recommend it: fresh walls make a yellowed ceiling stand out. Doing both at once costs far less than coming back once the room is set up again.

What changes with a big colour change?

Covering a dark wall or applying an intense shade sometimes needs an extra coat, or a tinted undercoat. We tell you in the quote — never mid-job.
